About The Marigold Café
The Marigold Café keeps ordinary hours for the living — and very different
ones after the dusk bell.
June Hartley, a nurse who has sat with too many last breaths, inherits her
grandmother's café in the village of Eldermere. Granny's letter explains the
rest: at night the café opens for the newly dead, each carrying exactly one
unfinished story. Serve them. Listen. Help them untie the knot — and at dawn
they leave a marigold petal on the table, and move on.
Every guest's knot is untied at the counter, with a drink you craft: BITTER
for truth, SWEET for comfort, WARM for courage, BRIGHT for memory. There are
no wrong drinks and no fail states — every choice opens a different, equally
true scene, and every recipe is kept in Granny's journal, which the house
will ask you to use.
THE MARIGOLD CAFÉ is a complete cozy supernatural visual novel:
• A 3–5 hour story across a prologue and 6 chapters — about 42,000 words
• Six guests to know and farewell: a violinist whose last piece was never
heard, a sea captain whose letter home sank, a little girl still waiting
at table four, a bride from 1963, a chef, and the soldier he never fed
• Drink-crafting that changes what guests can bring themselves to say,
a heart for every guest, and a recipe journal that remembers everything
• 3 endings — Keeper, Bridge, and Dawn — shaped by the petals you gather
and the letters you read
• Warm painterly art, story illustrations, and an original composed score
• Chapter select, gallery, backlog, auto-play and 3 save slots
The kettle is on. Mind the bell.
