About Bambu Tag: write to your tags

The RFID tag on an empty Bambu Lab spool is still perfectly usable. Bambu Tag lets you read it, then turn it into a universal NFC tag that any phone can read, with no app needed.

READ A BAMBU LAB TAG
• Hold the tag to your phone: the UID and all 16 sectors are shown.
• For a Bambu tag, the filament card is decoded: material, colour, nominal weight and length, temperatures, production date.
• Reading works offline and stays on your phone.

WRITE TO A TAG, SIX USES
• URL: the phone opens the page when scanned.
• Text: the message is displayed.
• Wi-Fi: the phone offers to join the network. One button fills in the network you are on.
• Business card (vCard): the phone offers "Add to contacts".
• GPS position: the maps app opens at the chosen spot (coordinates copied from Maps, or your current position).
• App: launches the app of your choice, or opens its Play Store page if it is not installed.

Ideas: a Wi-Fi sticker for guests, a contact tag on your workbench, a link to your printer's profile, a shortcut to your slicer app, a GPS meeting point.

BUILT TO BE RELIABLE
• What you write is read back and compared before success is announced.
• A counter shows the space used on the tag (about 700 bytes maximum).
• A confirmation is required before any write.
• The "Already used" list remembers your content so you can reload or delete it. Wi-Fi passwords are stored encrypted.
• English and French interface, light or dark theme.

BEFORE YOU START
• Writing to a Bambu Lab tag is irreversible: its keys are replaced, the printer no longer recognises it and the filament data is lost. Use it only on tags from empty spools.
• Works with Mifare Classic 1K tags only.
• Requires an Android phone with NFC and an NXP chip (low-level Mifare Classic access). Phones with another chip maker may not work.
• iPhones cannot read Mifare Classic: a tag written with this app will not be read by an iPhone.

PRIVACY
• No account, nothing sent to a server: your content stays on the phone.
• Location is requested only if you use "Current Wi-Fi" or "Current position" (Android requires it to get the network name).
• Google AdMob ads are shown. In the European Economic Area, the UK and Switzerland, a consent form is offered and can be changed at any time in settings.

Bambu Tag is an independent app. It is not published, endorsed by or affiliated with Bambu Lab. "Bambu Lab" is a trademark of its respective owners.
