Forage Journal

Forage Journal is a field journal for foragers. Mark the patch, note the season, and find your way back next year.

YOUR SPOTS, YOUR WAY
• Drop a pin where you stand, walk a path with GPS, or outline a whole area
• Photos, notes and a visit log for every spot
• Seasons: mark the months a spot is good, and Forage learns them from your visits
• Guide me: a straight line to your spot with distance and bearing, for when the trail runs out

WORKS WITHOUT SIGNAL
• Download map areas before you head out
• A clear, topographic field map styled for the outdoors, by day and by night

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• No account and no sign-in
• No ads, no analytics, no tracking
• Spots, notes and photos stay on your phone. Back them up as GeoJSON whenever you like.

FORAGE PREMIUM
• "Probably ready" alerts that combine each spot's season, your own harvest history and recent rain and temperature (contiguous US)
• Spot conditions: recent rain, temperature, soil temperature and growing degree days (contiguous US)
• Land and habitat overlays (US): public land, burn scars and forest type
• An on-device assistant that answers questions about your own spots and visits, on supported devices

FORAGE PRO
Everything in Premium, plus harvest weights and sales, a harvest dashboard, permit tracking with expiry warnings, printable walk handouts and CSV export for bookkeeping.

FORAGE SAFELY
Forage Journal never identifies species and never tells you what is edible. Only eat what you have identified with certainty, and get permission before foraging on private land.

Premium and Pro are yearly subscriptions that renew until cancelled in your Google Play subscriptions; Premium is also available as a one-time purchase.
