Blurb: Notification Summaries

Long chats. One short summary.

Blurb turns bursts of message notifications into one short summary. When a conversation goes quiet, Blurb reads what arrived and replaces the pile with a single notification that gives you the gist. Tap it to open the chat, or turn on Original messages on expand to read them beneath the summary.

HOW IT WORKS

Waits for a chat to pause, then sums it up in one notification
New replies join the unread summary, which updates after the next pause
Optionally expand a summary to see the original messages
Recent summaries are kept on your phone, newest first

WORKS WITH YOUR APPS
Google Messages is free. Signal, WhatsApp, Discord, Microsoft Teams and Telegram are included with Blurb Pro, a one-time purchase with no subscription.

YOU CHOOSE WHERE SUMMARIES HAPPEN

On your phone: download Gemma 4 E2B (2.6 GB) or E4B (3.7 GB) once and summaries run offline, powered by LiteRT-LM. Needs a capable phone.
In the cloud: use your own API key for Gemini, OpenAI or Anthropic, or your own HTTPS server. Cloud summaries are generally higher quality.

PRIVACY

In on-device mode with cloud fallback off, message text never leaves your phone
No account and no ads
No Blurb server: cloud requests go straight from your phone to the provider you pick
Optional redaction removes phone numbers, emails, links and other identifiers before a cloud request (best effort)
Usage diagnostics never include message text, summaries or contact names, and you can turn them off in Settings

GOOD TO KNOW
Blurb needs notification access to read incoming message notifications and requires Android 12 or newer. Summaries are AI-generated and can miss details, so open the conversation for anything important.
Optional on Android 15 and newer: Android hides message text it thinks is a one-time code. You can let Blurb read it in one tap with the free Shizuku app, after agreeing on the Hidden notification text screen. Blurb then reads real codes too, and in cloud mode they reach your provider like any other message text.

Google Messages, Signal, WhatsApp, Discord, Microsoft Teams and Telegram are trademarks of their respective owners. Blurb is not affiliated with or endorsed by them or by Shizuku.
