شرح كتاب أصول السنة للإمام أحمد - رحمه الله - وهذا الكتاب له أهمية كبيرة منها:
1- أن مؤلفه الإمام أحمد وهو إمام أهل السنة والجماعة.
2- تقريره للضوابط العامة والقواعد الأساسية التي تضبط مذهب السلف والتي تخالف أهل البدع.
3- كونه يحرر أصول عقيدة الفرقة الناجية أهل السنة والجماعة التي كان عليها رسول الله - صلى الله عليه وسلم - وأصحابه.
وقد اهتم العلماء بها حتى قال القاضي أبو يعلى ـ رحمه الله تعالى ـ: « لو رحل إلى الصين فـي طلبها لكان قليلاً ».
