About AppPeek
Do you know where your apps connect? AppPeek shows you in real time and lets you decide what can leave your phone and what can't.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
• See live, on a globe, which countries each app's connections go to.
• Browse your connection history grouped by destination, with charts of total and blocked traffic.
• Allow or block each app with a single switch.
• Create rules by IP, domain or country: block, allow or alert.
• Use domain or IP blocklists (Pi-hole, AdGuard and IP list formats) with automatic updates. HaGeZi lists are included as recommendations.
• Get notified when the rule or list you choose takes action.
• See why each connection was blocked: which list, which rule or which country.
YOUR TRAFFIC NEVER LEAVES YOUR PHONE
All analysis happens on your device. AppPeek has no servers your traffic passes through, includes no analytics, ads or trackers, and your history is stored only on your phone for as long as you choose (one hour by default).
NOTHING IS DECRYPTED
AppPeek does not install certificates or decrypt connections. It only sees what travels unencrypted in any connection: the destination address, the port, which app opened it and the domain name. The content of your messages, passwords and pages stays encrypted and AppPeek cannot read it. No root required.
VPNSERVICE USAGE
To see and filter connections, AppPeek uses Android's VpnService API to create a local VPN: a tunnel that starts and ends inside your phone. It is not a VPN for hiding your IP or changing your country, and it does not send your traffic to any remote server. Each connection goes directly to its destination, just as it would without the app. DNS queries are resolved by the DNS of the network you are connected to, the same one used without AppPeek.
PASSIVE MODE
If you'd rather not turn on the VPN, passive mode uses Android's usage statistics to show how much traffic each app uses over Wi-Fi and mobile data.
PERMISSIONS
• VPN: to inspect and filter connections on the device.
• Installed apps list: to show each app by name and apply per-app rules.
• Usage access (optional, passive mode only): to measure each app's traffic.
• Notifications: for VPN status and the alerts you turn on.
SUBSCRIPTION
AppPeek is offered as a subscription with a 5-day free trial. You can cancel anytime from Google Play.
