MAD:MusicAfricaDirect

MAD Music brings South Africa's recorded music to your phone — from the earliest
years of the Gallo vault through to the releases landing this week.

WHAT YOU'LL FIND

Gallo Music has been recording South African artists since 1926. MAD Music opens
that archive alongside current releases, so the music that shaped the country
and the music being made right now sit in the same place.

WAYS TO LISTEN

• New Releases — fresh from the catalogue, updated as they arrive
• Gallo 100 — a century of Gallo Music, gathered in one collection
• Themes — Mbaqanga, Maskandi, Afro Reggae, Bubblegum Township Disco and more
• MAD About — curated collections built around individual artists
• Genres and Decades — browse by style or by era
• Discover — picks drawn from across the archive
• Search — find an artist, an album or a single track

MADDIE

Maddie is a built-in assistant you can ask about the music: an artist's story,
where a style came from, or what to play next. Answers are generated, so treat
them as a starting point rather than the last word.

YOUR LIBRARY

Build playlists from anything in the catalogue. They stay with your account, so
they follow you to whichever device you sign in on.

ACCOUNT

MAD Music requires an account. Signing in gives you the full catalogue; without
one you can browse freely and hear short previews of any track.

ABOUT

MAD Music is Music Africa Direct, built with Gallo Music Investments — custodians
of one of Africa's most significant recorded music archives. Our aim is simple:
keep this catalogue playable, and keep paying the artists who made it.

Streaming requires an internet connection.
