SketchTone: Music Maker

Draw a line, tap Play, and hear your doodle become a melody. SketchTone is a playful music maker that turns the shapes you draw into sound. Explore musical drawing on a colourful canvas, with simple controls and no music theory required.

DRAW YOUR MUSIC
Make dots, curves and colourful sketches, then listen as the playhead brings them to life. Higher marks create higher notes, while their position from left to right sets the timing. Partially erase a line, undo an edit or clear the canvas to explore a different idea.

EXPLORE COLOUR AND SOUND
Choose from 24 ink colours and eight synthesised sounds: Keys, Pluck, Bell, Bass, Flute, Marimba, Strings and Synth. Colour and sound are independent, so you can layer different instruments into the same musical doodle while choosing the look of each stroke.

SHAPE YOUR MELODY LOOPS
Start with the uncluttered Simple controls. Switch to Advanced to select instruments, adjust the tempo, add echo and explore loops from 4 to 32 beats. Play, pause and resume as you experiment. Volume and mute remain within reach in both modes.

FIND A LITTLE INSPIRATION
Tap Shuffle for an editable musical drawing: cats, flowers, space, ocean scenes, mountains or flowing ribbons. Add your own marks, reshape a line or undo the change. Every example is made from the same playable strokes you can draw yourself.

YOUR CANVAS, YOUR STYLE
SketchTone opens with a playful retro Paint appearance. Prefer a softer look? Switch to the rounded Modern theme without losing your drawing. The appearance and Simple or Advanced controls are separate choices, so your canvas can suit the way you like to create.

A CREATIVE BREAK, ONLINE OR OFF
The drawing canvas and sound synthesis work offline after installation. Your current drawing and settings save locally on your device for your next session. No account, microphone, advertisements or in-app purchases are required. The interface is currently in English.

SketchTone is a musical sketchpad for exploring short instrumental ideas. It does not record audio, export songs, offer a cloud library or include a drum machine. Draw, listen and discover how your shapes sound.
