Maru Chari : Live Wallpaper

Maru-Chari brings a quiet corner of the Thar desert to your phone: a Rajasthani camel, a khejri tree and a golden hilltop fort on the horizon, alive on your home screen and set to your own clock.

THE CAMEL'S DAY
The wallpaper follows the real time where you are.
• Dawn and morning: it browses the khejri's leaves and grazes the desert grass.
• Midday heat: it lies down in the tree's shade, chewing its cud.
• Dusk: it heads out for an evening stroll, then walks home before bed.
• Night: it sleeps with its neck stretched along the sand, under the moon and stars.

It lies down front legs first and gets up back legs first, the way real camels do. It breathes, blinks, flicks its ears and swishes its tail, so it never looks frozen.

A SMALL HELLO
Unlock your phone and the camel lifts its head to see who's there, even in the middle of the night.

SIX WEATHERS, ALL DRAWN
Choose clear skies, drifting clouds, rain, a thunderstorm, a sandstorm or fog. Each one changes the whole scene: rain darkens the sand, lightning flickers over the dunes, grit streaks through a sandstorm and fog swallows the distant fort. In a storm or sandstorm, the camel hunkers down until it passes.

A SKY THAT KEEPS THE HOURS
The light shifts continuously through the day, from blue hour to sunrise, the white glare of noon, late-afternoon gold, sunset and twilight. The sun and moon travel across the sky, stars come out, birds cross at dawn and dusk, and lamps glow in the fort's windows after dark.

DRESSED FOR THE FAIR
The camel wears its festival best: an embroidered jhool with mirror work and tassels over its hump, a beaded gorbandh with a brass bell at its throat, and a pom-pom bridle.

LIGHT BY DESIGN
• Under 8 MB to download.
• Drawing stops the moment the wallpaper is out of sight.
• No ads, no accounts, no tracking. The app asks for no permissions and collects no data.
• On Android 12 and later, it tells your phone whether the sky needs light or dark text, so your clock stays readable.
• A gentle parallax as you swipe between home-screen pages, on launchers that support it.
