About Clappy Bird: Clap to Fly
A bird falls. You clap. The bird flies.
That is the whole game. There is no tap-to-flap — nothing you touch moves the bird. Make a sharp sound and it climbs; go quiet and it drops. Level flight is about two claps a second, which is a comfortable rhythm, and finding that rhythm is the skill.
ANY SHARP SOUND WORKS
Clap, shout, snap your fingers, whistle, thump the table. The game listens for a sudden jump in loudness — not for a clap in particular, and not for words — so whatever noise you can make is a working controller. A sensitivity slider with a live meter tunes it to your room: looser for a quiet bedroom, stricter for a café.
ONE SOUND, ONE FLAP
Three claps in a burst lift you exactly as high as one, so panic-clapping cannot save you. The ceiling kills as surely as the ground. The gaps do not ask for precision — they ask for timing.
THREE WAYS TO FLY
• ENDLESS — procedural, infinite, the score everyone chases
• DAILY — one course a day, the same course for every player in the world, forty pipes long
• FLIGHT SCHOOL — twelve short lessons that teach the rhythm, each with a par to beat
EVERY COURSE PROVED FLYABLE
All 412 courses that ship with the game — twelve lessons and four hundred dailies — were flown through the game's own physics before release, and each one carries the flight that cleared it. Nobody is ever handed an impossible board.
NINE BIRDS
Coins come from clearing pipes. They buy birds, and the odd second chance. They never buy a faster bird, a wider gap, or anything the score table would care about.
THE MICROPHONE, PLAINLY
The microphone is used only to measure how loud the room is. Audio is analysed on your device, in memory, for loudness alone. Nothing is recorded, nothing is written to a file, nothing is sent anywhere. It is not speech recognition — it cannot tell a word from a whistle. The mic opens when you enter a game and closes when you leave it, and the only other place it opens is the "test my mic" button in Settings. It is never open on a menu.
MADE TO RESPECT YOU
• Plays offline — every course ships inside the app
• No account, no sign-up, no leaderboard server: your scores and your initials stay on your phone
• Ads never interrupt a run. They come after a game-over, and your first five runs never see one — one purchase removes them for good
• Want a second chance at a good run? Watch a short video by choice. Never sprung on you, and never required
Hands off the glass. Make some noise.
