About PapApp Lujan

PapApp is a guide to help you navigate during Pope Leo XIV's visit to the Basilica of Luján on November 11, 2026.

A huge crowd is expected that day, and cell phone signal may be weak. That's why PapApp stores the map, information, and route calculator directly on your phone. Once installed, it works offline using only your phone's GPS.

What you can do with PapApp:

• Offline map: View the map of Luján and your location even without a signal.

• Nearby services: Restrooms, hydration stations, first aid stations, parking, meeting points, screens, and transportation. You can show or hide each category and search by name.

• How to get there: The app calculates walking routes and takes into account street closures for the event. If you deviate from the route, it recalculates. In the final stretch, an arrow indicates the direction and distance to your destination.

• My Car: Save your parking location, time, and a note, and walk back at the end of the day.

• Useful Information: Schedule, what to bring, safety recommendations, what to do if you get lost, and the history of the Basilica and the Virgin of Luján.

• Emergencies: Direct access to call SAME (107), the Police (911), and the Fire Department (100), and the nearest meeting point to your location.

• Available in Spanish, Portuguese, and English.

Before you go: Install the app and open it at least once before your trip. If you have an internet connection in the days leading up to your trip, the app will automatically update information and road closures.

Privacy: No account creation required. Your location is used only while you are using the app, processed on your phone, and not sent to any server.

Notice: PapApp is an independent project. It is not an official app and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by the Holy See, the Archdiocese of Mercedes-Luján, the Basilica of Luján, the Municipality of Luján, or the Province of Buenos Aires. Schedules, road closures, and service points may change: always follow the instructions of the operation staff and authorities.
