The Kuzari: Yehuda Halevi

The Kuzari (Sefer HaKuzari) is Rabbi Yehuda Halevi's classic work on Jewish faith, written around the year 1140. It is built as a dialogue. The King of the Khazars sets out to find the true way to serve God, puts his questions to a philosopher and to the scholars of other faiths, and finally turns to the Rabbi, whose answers unfold across five essays. This app brings the whole book into your daily learning, section by section.

WHO IT IS FOR
Yeshiva and seminary students learning Machshava, students of Jewish philosophy, baalei teshuva building their foundations, and any reader who wants to see how Judaism answers the deepest questions about faith, revelation, and peoplehood.

WHAT THE KUZARI IS ABOUT
The revelation at Sinai, and why it stands apart from private religious experience. Prophecy and its bond with the Land of Israel. The standing of the Jewish people among the nations. The names of God, Elohim and the four letter Name, and what each one reveals. The reasons behind the commandments. Nearly nine hundred years later, these are still the questions people bring to Jewish faith.
