K-RetroPhone: Retro Flip Lock

※ Accessibility notice: K-RetroPhone uses the Android AccessibilityService API for its "Full Block" feature, which sends you back to the K-RetroPhone screen when a non-allowed app opens during a lock. See "Use of Accessibility Service" below for details.

Instead of nagging yourself to put your phone down, what if the screen itself turned into an old-school feature phone?

K-RetroPhone is a digital detox launcher that turns your screen into an actual retro flip phone, slide phone, or brick phone the moment you lock it. It's not just about hiding your SNS, YouTube, and game icons — the whole phone becomes that nostalgic device, so there's simply no reason left to fiddle with it.

■ Use of Accessibility Service (AccessibilityService API)
K-RetroPhone's "Full Block" feature uses Android's Accessibility Service (AccessibilityService API). While a lock is active, if an app other than the allowed ones (phone, messenger, etc.) opens, it automatically sends you back to the K-RetroPhone screen.
- It only checks which app is currently in the foreground (its package name). It does not read on-screen text, what you type, or any other content.
- This information is never stored or sent to any server or third party.
- It only works while a lock is active, and you turn it on yourself after an in-app disclosure and consent. You can turn it off anytime in Settings > Accessibility.

■ Who it's for
- Anyone who catches themselves habitually touching their phone during study or work
- Anyone tired of plain app-blocker toggle lists and wants a more fun way to do digital detox
- Anyone who misses the 2000s flip phone / slide phone vibe

■ Key features
- Self-timer lock for any duration you want — while locked, your phone fully transforms into that era's feature phone
- Multiple device skins to choose from: flip phone (white/pink), slide phone, swivel phone, brick phone, and more
- Trying to open another app while locked just brings you back to the retro phone screen
- Do Not Disturb integration silences notification pop-ups and sounds while locked — calls and alarms always still work normally
- If something urgent comes up, you can unlock early by watching a short ad (it won't trap you against your will)
- Check how much lock time is left anytime via an ongoing notification
- A fun Hangul (Korean alphabet) learning mini-game for when you're bored

■ How is this different from other blocking apps?
Typical app blockers are just toggle lists — they don't remove temptation, they just make you "force yourself to resist." K-RetroPhone changes the screen itself into a different phone, so instead of resisting, you get a natural constraint: "right now, this phone can only do this." The core lock feature is fully usable without any payment.

Put your phone down for a bit, and meet that old flip phone again.
