About PCCS 配色ラボ
PCCS Color Scheme Lab is an app that allows you to test, research, and learn about color schemes based on the PCCS (Practical Color Coordinate System) color system proposed by the Japan Color Research Institute. Using the PCCS's hue and tone classifications, you can freely arrange and combine actual colors, efficiently honing your color sense.
This app allows you to easily search for PCCS colors from a list and place only those that interest you on the canvas for comparison. By arranging multiple colors, you can visually understand the relationships between lightness, saturation, and hue. This app is useful not only for design novices, but also for preparing for the Color Certification Exam and Color Coordinator Certification Exam, and for professional designers to test color schemes.
Since colors can be freely dragged, you can quickly create color schemes that come to mind, facilitating smooth digital color experimentation. Arranging colors to check balance, comparing candidate accent colors, and checking complementary color relationships, saturation differences, and lightness differences is also ideal. Visually grasping color schemes allows you to develop both a sensory understanding and a theoretical understanding.
The app also features a "Tone Chart" feature that allows you to view color classifications by tone. Visually grasp the characteristics of each tone, such as vivid, bright, soft, pale, and dark. Changing the tone number with the slider instantly changes colors within the same tone category, allowing you to see at a glance how changing the tone affects color and impression.
Once you've finished arranging colors, you can easily save your work using the screenshot function. On iOS, the screenshot is saved with a transparent or white background, while on Android, it's saved with a black background for easy viewing. You can also share color scheme ideas on social media, use them as inspiration for your own projects, or use them as design memos.
This app aims to be a "color scheme tool that can be used for both study and creation." The PCCS color system is widely used in color education and design, and is useful in a wide range of situations, from basic to advanced. It's ideal for those planning to take the color certification exam, those studying design as a hobby, and those looking to streamline color planning for illustration, web design, product design, and more.
The app is a one-time purchase with no additional charges or monthly fees. There are no ads or pop-ups, so you can concentrate and immerse yourself in the world of color. We provide a simple, comfortable environment that you can use with confidence for a long time.
PCCS Color Scheme Lab is a tool for understanding color from both a theoretical and intuitive perspective. By trying out color combinations while actually moving them around, you will intuitively gain insights and ideas about color schemes. This is the perfect app for those who want to develop their own sense of color and improve their ability to create the color schemes they envision.
We hope you enjoy the world of color in PCCS and explore your own unique color scheme expression.
