About Minou

Minou is the notebook of your neighbourhood's cats. And the day one of them goes missing, it's the alert that can let the neighbours know.

THE CATS ON YOUR STREET
You run into a cat, you take a photo. They show up on the neighbourhood map and in your Dex. Every time someone sees them again, their card grows. Outside an alert, only their owner sees their usual spot and hours.
In the Sort tab, you help neighbours recognise cats with a few quick questions. There are levels and new challenges every week.

THE DAY A CAT GOES MISSING
Their owner already has weeks of photos taken by the neighbourhood. They start a free alert, which can notify the neighbours who turned on alerts. The cat shows up in the map's Missing view, and new photos show their exact location.

YOUR CAT JUST WENT MISSING?
Tap "I've lost my cat". A photo from your gallery and their name are enough to start the alert, even if you're not at home.

FOUND A CAT?
Tap "I found a cat" and take their photo. Minou shows you the cats nearby that look like them. You can let their owner know, or post their card so their family recognises them. If you took them in at home, your address is never recorded. And never pay anything to get a cat back.

NOBODY GETS TRACKED
Locations are rounded to about a hundred metres and published 45 minutes later. So nobody can follow a cat, or the person photographing them. They only become exact during a lost cat's alert. The alert notification contains no location and no phone number.
Your phone checks for itself that there's really a cat in the photo, and it refuses a photo where someone can be recognised. Nothing is sent anywhere else for that. No ads, and no data is sold.

IN QUEBEC, CANADA AND FRANCE
You pick your area, from Montreal down to the villages, anywhere in Quebec, the rest of Canada and France. The cats come with the people who photograph them. The map is filling up in Montreal first.

IN ENGLISH AND FRENCH
The app follows your phone's language, or the one you pick in Profile.

FREE
Alerts work for everyone, and there's no hidden paid version. A donation gives no advantage in the app.
