■ February 12, 1593, Haengju Fortress

Twelve times, from Myosi (06:00) to Yusi (17:00).

Thirty thousand Japanese troops pour down from the fortress. Inside the fortress are only 2,300 government troops, Buddhist monks, archers, and righteous army soldiers, along with 500 civilians.

Become General Kwon Yul and defend this fortress until sunset.

■ The Key is the Stones Carried in Aprons

Even if arrows run out and gunpowder is depleted, the stones remain.

The civilians gather stones in the rear and carry them up the fortress walls, and the warships hurl them.

If the chain of stones is cut, the defense is cut as well.

The seventh wave: those carrying stones in the folds of their skirts climb the fortress walls.

From that moment on, rear production increases indefinitely.

■ Cannons Begin from the Fifth Wave

· Cannon — 3x3 explosion, range 8. A solid main force.

· Hwacha — A variant weapon. Consumes a lot of gunpowder but can fire at close range.

· Singijeon — Range 10, 5x5 explosion. However, it cannot hit targets within 7 squares. A weapon designed to weed out enemies before they get close.

· Bigyeokjincheonroe — Waits for the fuse to burn before exploding. Surviving enemies are frightened and retreat.

Where you position your base determines your range. Fire only as much as your gunpowder magazine and budget allow.

■ The Real Battle Begins Between Waves

· Use the budget to purchase stones, arrows, and gunpowder, and bring in cannons.

· Repair palisades and earthen fortifications that break down individually by square — if not repaired, they will be breached and face the next wave.

· North side: 16 squares; West and East sides: 8 squares each. Decide which side to position and who to place on each square.

· Fallen soldiers do not return. A thinned unit continues to fight while thinned out.

■ Three Generals

Kwon Yul is fixed; choose two from the remaining five.

· Cheo-yeong — Commander of Monk Soldiers. Heals nearby allies in an area.

· Jo Gyeong — Commander of the Guards. Increases palisade durability and repairs even while fighting.

· Byeon I-jung — Commander of Artillery. Reduces gunpowder consumption of wagons and increases their range.

· Kim Cheon-il — Commander of Righteous Army. Boosts Righteous Army throwing and civilian production.

· Seon Geo-i — Commander of the Rear. Does not stand on the front line but reduces incoming enemies by 15%.

■ Twelve Factions Based on Historical Records

Starting with Konishi Yukinaga and continuing through Ishida Mitsunari, Kuroda Nagamasa, Ukita Hideie,

Kikkawa Hiroie, Mori Hidemoto, and Kobayakawa Takakage —

Commanders change according to actual records, and the composition of the enemy changes each time.

Following the infantry, musketeers snipe over the palisade, cavalry aim for a breakthrough,

bombardiers come to break through the wall, and monks heal the enemy from behind.

In the eighth wave, General Jeong Geoll's ship sails up the river laden with fifty thousand arrows.

From the fire attack and water jugs of the tenth wave to the sacks and all-out assault of the final wave.

The story is written with the explicit statement "it is said to be." Facts and legends are not mixed.

■ How to Plan Strategy

Deployment is done with your hands; battle is fought with your eyes.

Set up your units and cannons, press start, and the battle unfolds automatically.

Adjust deployment speed and zoom while observing the battle situation, identify what is lacking, and prepare the next wave.

Haengju Fortress was never captured.

Whether you can do so again this time depends on where you stack your stones.
