About Kachak: Disposable Camera

Kachak turns your event into one shared roll of film.

You buy a space for your party, wedding or dinner. Everyone else scans a QR code or types a six-character join code — no account, no sign-up. They install Kachak, scan, and start shooting.

Then comes the part that makes it worth doing: nobody sees a frame until a roll develops.

HOW IT WORKS

1. Host a space. Name it, pick the date, choose how many people.
2. Share the code. Print the poster, put the QR on the table, or send the link.
3. Everyone shoots. Each guest gets a limited roll — a real constraint, like the disposable cameras weddings used to leave on the tables.
4. It develops. A roll develops when its twenty shots are gone, and everyone's photos land in one gallery — or, if the host sets a reveal time, everything appears at once then.

WHY THE WAITING IS THE POINT

A phone camera is infinite, so nobody chooses. A disposable camera is not, so every frame costs something. Twenty shots makes people look before they press.

And because nothing appears until a roll develops, nobody spends the night reviewing photos instead of being in them. No one deletes the unflattering one. No one retakes it four times. You get the evening as it actually happened — and if the host sets a reveal time, all at once, the next morning.

FOR HOSTS

• Choose a size that fits your guest list
• Put your own photo on the space, and on a printed invite with the join QR
• Pick a film look — eight stocks, from warm amber to cold slate
• Decide when photos appear: as each roll develops, or all at once at a time you set
• See who has joined as the room fills up
• Remove any frame from your space

FOR GUESTS

• No account. Scan and shoot.
• Twenty shots, then three do-overs — not before
• Your own shots stay visible to you while you take them
• Everyone else's arrive when their roll develops
• Save the whole roll to your phone
• Photos are only ever visible to people in that same space

PRIVACY

Your photos belong to the event they were shot for, and nowhere else. They are not public, not shared with other spaces, and never used for advertising or to train models. Usage analytics can be switched off inside the app.
