About HereDrop
HereDrop lets you safely share a one-time snapshot of your current location with people you've connected with.
Share only when you choose
- Connect through an invitation code before sharing.
- Confirm recipients, the measurement time and accuracy, plus any photo or message before sending.
- Stale or very inaccurate locations cannot be sent.
Temporary by design
- Location, messages, photos, and read status expire after 24 hours.
- You can revoke a share sooner from your history.
- Blocking or disconnecting someone revokes currently available shares in both directions.
Open and navigate
- Review the sent time, accuracy, and time remaining.
- Open locations in Apple Maps or Google Maps for viewing or directions.
- Receive notifications for new shares.
HereDrop does not continuously track your location in the background. Your location is sent only after you request a measurement and confirm the share.
