The historical building elements incorporated in and on the building of the Museum of Hamburg History, so-called spolia, embody Hamburg's architectural history. The spolia originate from past times and have been reused in the museum. But which buildings did the portals and figures belong to in the past, what was their significance and what do they tell us? Find the answers with the Spolia app and go on a discovery tour at the museum. Experience the spolia as virtual 3D models and in augmented reality mode. Find out who lived in these houses and why the houses no longer exist. Or use the Hamburg city map to search for traces of 40 destroyed buildings, from which portals, ornaments and stone figures have been preserved and built into the façades of the museum as spolia. Or solve the riddle surrounding a family legend and hear the story of the prisoner in the spinning house in 1842. Open a treasure chest and find its secret.
