Coastwake: AIS Ship Tracker

Watch boats around a place you choose. Coastwake gives you a focused AIS map, vessel shapes by type, and a landscape screensaver for keeping an eye on nearby activity.

Live AIS in Free and Pro requires your own AISstream account and API key. Coastwake guides you through setup and encrypts the key on your phone. No Coastwake account is needed.

Try the demo
Explore the illustrative Algeciras demo without an AISstream key. Its vessel positions and movement are simulated, not live AIS.

Choose your view
Search for a port or enter coordinates to set your focus.
Explore within 5 km of your focus in Free, without GPS permission.
See reported vessel names and speeds, and recognize types by their shapes.
Turn on the radar sweep or open the full-screen landscape screensaver.

Algeciras is the default starting point. The 3 km screensaver is included in Free and Pro and keeps the display on. The radar sweep is a visual effect, not a sensor or measure of AIS coverage.

AIS coverage
Vessel visibility and details depend on AISstream reports. Reports may be delayed, incomplete, or unavailable. Coastwake is for watching maritime activity, not for navigation, collision avoidance, or emergencies
