Carbon Explorer: GHG Inventory

Carbon Explorer is an offline greenhouse gas (GHG) inventory and carbon accounting app: enter electricity, fuel and travel data; it applies official emission factors, totals your Scope 1, 2 and 3 emissions, and traces every figure back to its source.

Carbon Explorer breaks it down into things you already do:
- Take your electricity bill, enter the kWh
- Take your fuel receipt, enter the liters
- Business travel, commuting, waste - one entry at a time
Every entry shows its full calculation and names the official database behind the factor - six are built in (see Data Sources).

Overseas sites too: Taiwan uses MOENV annual grid factors, other countries Ember global electricity data, on a GHG Protocol Scope 2 location-based basis.

Not ready to use your company? Practise at home first - a flat's electricity and gas bills follow the same process as a company's.

- Scope 1: stationary and mobile combustion, fugitive emissions (refrigerants, septic tanks,
extinguishers), process emissions

- Scope 3 (8 of 15 GHG Protocol categories implemented): fuel- and energy-related activities, business travel, employee commuting, waste, purchased goods & services, capital goods, upstream/downstream transportation

COMMON QUESTIONS
- Is this a carbon footprint app? No. It is an organizational GHG inventory: total emissions of a company or household over a period. Single-product and personal lifestyle footprints are out of scope.
- Can I file these numbers? They are internal management estimates - fine as a draft for an ESG questionnaire or sustainability report, not a certification-ready filing.
- Is it online? No - see Privacy below.
- What is free? Logging, calculation, boundaries and totals. The paid unlock is the detailed export with full factor traceability.

LIMITS, STATED UP FRONT
- Output is for internal management estimation, not a certification-ready filing, and the app never claims official compliance status.
- Some Scope 3 categories use spend-based estimation (a US model applied to local currency spend) - a known limitation, disclosed in-app.
- Categories not yet implemented are labeled as such, not silently omitted.

This app is developed independently and is not created, authorized, endorsed by, or affiliated with any government agency referenced above. Output is for internal management estimation only, not official certification or regulatory compliance.

PRIVACY
Fully offline, no account required, all data stays on your device. It only leaves when you export or back it up yourself, or through a Google Play in-app purchase.

About permissions: the install page lists network access. This app makes no network calls and has no networking library - it is merged in by the Google Play Billing library, and removing it breaks the paid feature. Your inventory data never travels over the network.
