The dictionary of hunting and falconry language contains more than 1,500 technical terms from hunting and falconry (approx. 200) with the corresponding explanations. Searching for terms or in the full text makes it easier to find the terms. Not only intended for young hunters or candidates in hunting training, experienced hunters and falconers will also find valuable information for “correct” communication with their fellow hunters.

The hunter's language, often also referred to as the hunter's language, is a technical language. It is mainly made up of technical terms from the field of hunting and is used by hunters. Nowadays, they are also intended to protect and preserve hunting customs. Hunter language has its origins in the precise description of nature observations and signs of the game to be killed.

Since the beginning of the 12th century, the hunter's language began to develop into the guild language of hunters and reached its peak in the 17th and 18th centuries. It is said to be the most developed and richest compared to other guild languages, and it is also a constantly evolving language.

The hunter's language is also influenced by dialects, and is particularly extensive in the Alpine countries. Although it is taught as part of the preparation for the hunter's examination, it is not part of the examination, but is a mark of a "fair" hunter or huntress, i.e. a person who thoroughly understands hunting.
