Give in early and you pay the pledge. That small cost is often exactly what you need to put the phone down.

HOW YOUR DETOX WORKS
• Choose what distracts you: social media, video, games, browsers. Common distractions are suggested first, or select everything in one tap.
• Set the time: from 5 minutes to 7 days.
• Back it with a pledge: $5, $10, $15, $20, $30, $40, $50, $75 or $100.
• Lock. Open a locked app and a calm full-screen lock with a countdown reminds you of your promise.

SELF-CONTROL, NOT JUST A TIMER
• While a detox runs, the settings that could switch the app off are locked too, so there's no quick escape. Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and the rest of Settings keep working.
• Before you pay to unlock, you stop and confirm that you're breaking your own promise. Many people change their mind right there.
• One free unlock per month for real emergencies.

Payments are processed by Google Play. An early-unlock payment is a penalty for breaking your pledge: your apps unlock immediately, so the payment is final.
