About AmbTrack

The AmbTrack project focuses on real-time monitoring and molecular characterization of citizens' exposure to ragweed pollen through citizen science.

By engaging the public in data collection through the AmbTrack mobile app, the project aims to map ragweed locations and monitor allergy symptoms in real time. Citizens report the presence of ragweed through photographs, marking locations with GPS pins, while simultaneously monitoring their symptoms during the ragweed "bloom" period.

This approach enables the identification of individuals with severe allergic reactions, who will then be invited for further clinical analysis, including serum collection and in vitro characterization of ragweed allergen proteins from rural and urban areas, using sera from selected patients.
