About Wingtip: Plane Spotter

Wingtip turns plane spotting into a collection: the aircraft flying over you become cards you keep.

No photo recognition. Your phone's sensors and live flight data do the work. You point, the app identifies the exact airframe — not just the model — and turns it into a card.

HOW IT WORKS
Point your phone at an aircraft in the sky. Wingtip reads your compass and GPS, matches your aim against live ADS-B traffic, and works out which plane you are looking at. It still works when the aircraft is only a dot, behind cloud, or when you just heard it and looked up too late.

FOR PLANE SPOTTERS
If you already spot aircraft at your local airport, Wingtip gives the habit a scoreboard: every airframe you identify is logged with its registration, its airline or operator, and the route it was flying. And if you have never been plane spotting, this is the easiest way to start — no ADS-B receiver to set up, no radio, no knowledge of aviation needed. Just point.

WHAT YOU COLLECT
247 real aircraft types, from the Cessna 152 to the Antonov An-225. Four rarities, based on how many of each type actually exist in the world's register — not on what we decided was cool. A Boeing 737-800 is common. A Boeing 767-400ER, with 38 airframes left, is legendary.

Every card carries the real data of the aircraft you captured: registration, operator, route, first flight, cruise speed, ceiling, maximum take-off weight, and a photo of that exact airframe.

NOT ANOTHER FLIGHT TRACKER
Flight tracking apps put every aircraft on a map. Wingtip does the opposite: you point at one plane, and it tells you which one that is. There is a live radar when you want it, showing the aviation traffic around you right now, so you know when something rare is worth stepping outside for — but the game is the spotting, not the map.

YOUR HANGAR
Fifteen ranks to climb, from Cadet to SkyMaster. Over a thousand achievements. Filter your collection by manufacturer, by airline, by rarity, and see which types are still missing.

NO ACCOUNT, NO SIGN-UP
Your collection stays on your phone. We do not ask for an email address, we do not create a profile, and there is nothing to log into.

FREE, WITH AN OPTIONAL SUBSCRIPTION
Wingtip is free: all 247 aircraft, all fifteen ranks, the radar, and the full hangar. The free tier includes five scans a day. Wingtip Pro lifts that daily limit — monthly or yearly, with a free trial, cancel any time.

WHAT YOU NEED
A phone with a compass. Location and camera permissions. And aircraft actually flying near you: close to an airport or under a flight path is ideal, but any sky with traffic will do.

Flight data: airplanes.live, OpenSky Network and adsbdb. Aircraft photos: planespotters.net.
