Are you passionate about Japanese poetry? Do you want to write haikus with seasonal sensitivity and connection to tradition?
Hotaru Haiku is the app you were waiting for: a careful, intuitive and free space where you can create haikus, discover kigo, and access literary publications from the Hotaru project.

🌸 Create haikus from your mobile, with or without connection
Hotaru Haiku allows you to write haikus anytime, anywhere, even without an internet connection.
Use the free creation notebook or be inspired by:

traditional kigo terms (essential seasonal words in Japanese haiku),

classic haikus by Japanese authors,

or random suggestions that the app will show you regularly to motivate you.

Write freely, save your drafts, revise your verses, and grow your own personal haikus anthology.

Furthermore, when you think the time has come, you will be able to export all your haikus in PDF format and very soon, also in an editable format and layout in Word so that with little additional effort, you can have your manuscript almost ready to publish.

📚 Discover kigo and explore our digital saijiki
The heart of haiku is in its connection with the seasons. That's why Hotaru Haiku includes a saijiki—a dictionary of seasonal words in Spanish—that will allow you to learn, read, and write in harmony with the weather.

Each kigo is accompanied by a brief explanation, and you can start your writing process directly from it.
