Herbst 89

Experience the Peaceful Revolution up close! "Autumn '89 – On the Streets of Leipzig" takes you back to the pivotal hours of October 9, 1989, when tens of thousands protested against the GDR regime. The outcome of the day was uncertain, and many feared a violent crackdown on the protests. Step into the shoes of seven unique characters – from a civil rights activist and a riot police officer to real historical figures like Egon Krenz and Kurt Masur – and experience the day from different perspectives. Make decisions that significantly influence the course of events. Solve small challenges and collect historical artifacts! Your actions determine: Will the protest remain peaceful, or will the situation escalate? "Autumn '89" was developed as part of the exhibition "Roads not Taken. Or: It Could Have Turned Out Differently" at the German Historical Museum in Berlin. The game can be played independently of the exhibition. Within the exhibition, the specially developed sound design, combined with the spatial staging, offers an immersive gaming experience.
