Heimweg Alarm - Safety App

Feel unsafe while you're out? Activate Heimweg Alarm before you head out. In an emergency, a few strong shakes of your phone can trigger the alarm.

Heimweg Alarm starts a loud siren, activates vibration and a flashing light, and can also notify your selected emergency contacts by SMS with your location.

Whether you're walking home late at night, waiting at a train station, crossing a parking garage or simply feeling uneasy on a dark street, Heimweg Alarm helps you attract attention quickly and notify people you trust.

HOW IT WORKS

Activate Protection Mode before you head out. If you need help, shake your phone firmly several times to trigger the alarm.

Depending on your settings, Heimweg Alarm can:

• Play a loud siren
• Activate vibration
• Flash your phone's light
• Notify up to three emergency contacts by SMS
• Share your current or last available location
• Start optional live location sharing

Emergency contacts and the required permissions must be set up in advance.

OPTIONAL LIVE LOCATION

You can enable live location sharing separately.

Live location only starts after a real alarm has been triggered. Your location is not shared beforehand, and a test alarm never starts live tracking.

Your emergency contacts receive a personal, time-limited link by SMS. After the first location is available, the app updates your position approximately once per minute.

Live location sharing ends:

• Automatically after a maximum of 60 minutes
• Immediately when you stop it manually

If no location is available, the emergency SMS can still be sent.

PRIVACY

Your emergency contacts are stored locally on your device.

Live location sharing is disabled by default. Only after you enable it and a real alarm is triggered are your location, accuracy, timestamp and, where available, speed transmitted securely via HTTPS to the tracking service.

Names, phone numbers, emergency contacts and SMS content are not uploaded to the tracking service.

If you manually stop an active live location session and the stop request is successfully transmitted, the active session is ended. Otherwise, access automatically expires after a maximum of 60 minutes.

Heimweg Alarm is an additional personal safety tool and does not replace emergency services.

The app cannot guarantee that an alarm will trigger successfully or that help will arrive. Siren, flashing light, SMS, location and live tracking may be affected by your device, Android settings, battery optimization, permissions, internet connection, mobile network, GPS or server availability.

Please check your settings, permissions and emergency contacts regularly.
