About GrowWise: Plant Watering
WHAT YOU GET
• A reminder on the right day for each plant, within the hours you choose.
• Point the camera at a plant to learn its name, how much water it wants and how much light. Got five plants in one photo? Brush over the one you mean.
• A watering day built from your pot: clay or plastic, how big it is, whether it has holes in the bottom, and the soil you actually filled it with.
• The week on one screen — what to water, what to feed, and what can wait.
• With four plants or more, water a whole windowsill in one pass: tap once and the app hands you the plants one by one, so you don't walk back for the one you missed.
• Say how the soil felt when you got there — dry, soggy, just right — and the next date shifts for that plant.
• Measure light with your phone: take one reading on the kitchen sill, and every plant on that sill gets its own watering day. If your phone has no light sensor, you can pick the spot from a list.
• Know before you buy or before you put a pot on the floor: which plants are toxic to a cat, a dog or a small child, and how badly.
• A warning when the spot is simply wrong — too dark for this plant, or soil it cannot survive in. These are the things that kill slowly, over months.
• Winter rest handled for you: when the days get short, the plants that rest get a longer interval, and in spring they go back to normal.
• Feeding by species, not one line for everyone. A cactus, an orchid and a fern get different advice, and a sundew is told plainly that it is never fed.
• A diary for each plant: photos, notes, the new leaf, the day it recovered.
MORE THAN KEEPING IT ALIVE
Pick what you want from a plant — grow it bigger, raise a second one from a cutting, get it to flower — and I lay out the path: what to do now, what to watch for, and when. Every milestone says how to do it and where people usually ruin it. Timings are spoken plainly: "in one to two months", not "week 40 to 80".
WHEN A PLANT GETS SICK
Photograph the bad leaf. The app sees what's wrong and how urgent it is, and names what it could be — dry air, overwatering, spider mite. With Premium you also get the full breakdown: what it is exactly, how it differs from the trouble it looks like, a step-by-step plan, and a reminder to repeat the treatment. The repeat is where treatment usually falls apart.
GARDEN, BALCONY, GREENHOUSE
Add anything you eat and it goes to a separate tab with its own rules.
• Growing stages from seed to harvest, with how long this one has been at its current stage.
• Twenty tomato seedlings of the same variety live in a single card.
• Rain counts: after a downpour I note that the beds got their water. A greenhouse gets no rain and dries slower.
• A glazed balcony, an open balcony and a greenhouse each have their own watering maths, not one number for everything. Beds in open ground get no watering date.
• Pruning and mulch tracked where they matter.
FREE
Up to three plants, and for them: the watering schedule, reminders, the light meter, toxicity warnings, condition alerts, the weekly screen, goals, the garden and the repotting verdict. Plant recognition: 10 times a day for free, 50 with Premium. The doctor tells you when your plant is in trouble.
PREMIUM
Plants without a limit. The full diagnosis and treatment plan. A step-by-step repotting plan. Your own soil mixes. Watering history with charts and a calendar.
Photograph one plant. You'll have its watering day before you put the phone down.
What’s new
Version 1.6.13 · Updated October 4, 2026
New reminder check: Settings → Reminders. It shows whether notifications and background activity are allowed and when the app last checked your garden. If something gets in the way, it explains how to fix it. If the phone keeps the app from checking the garden for a long time, a warning appears on the Today screen. The widget now adapts to the home screen: on phones with shorter cells, such as Xiaomi, everything fits.

Awesome app for people who want their plants to grow strong and healthy. It also shows what the disease is when something goes wrong, and how to treat it. It even tells you which plants are toxic for cats and dogs, I did not know about half of mine. However it does not work without a VPN in China. Also when you wate...
