The Film Friend is the ultimate companion for film photographers. Whether you shoot large format, medium format, or 35mm, this app puts essential darkroom and field tools in your pocket.
LIGHT METER
Turn your phone into a reliable light meter. Measure scene brightness using your device camera with real-time exposure calculations. Choose between Aperture Priority (Av) and Shutter Priority (Tv) modes. Tap anywhere on the preview to lock spot metering, and monitor tonal range with the live luminance histogram.
EXPOSURE TIMER
Time your long exposures with precision. Audible tick sounds keep you informed without looking at the screen. The timer stays visible on your lock screen via a persistent notification. Your screen stays awake throughout the entire exposure.
RECIPROCITY CALCULATOR
Correct for reciprocity failure with data for 18+ film stocks. Add optical filters from a library of 40+ ND, polarizer, and color correction filters. Factor in bellows extension stops for a final corrected exposure time.

Access development times for B&W, C-41, E-6, RA-4, and ECN-2 processes. Search and filter by brand, film, developer, and ISO.
