WebClipper MD

WebClipper MD saves web pages as Markdown files, ready to read in Obsidian or any other Markdown app.

Share a page from your browser and the app extracts the article text, converts it to Markdown, and writes a .md file into the folder you chose. No account, no ads, no tracking.

HOW IT WORKS
1. Open an article in your browser
2. Tap Share and choose WebClipper MD
3. The file appears in your folder, ready to open in Obsidian

WHAT EACH CLIP CONTAINS
• YAML frontmatter with the title, the source URL, the date it was saved, and your own tags
• The article body converted to Markdown, with tables kept intact
• A file name you control, with or without a date prefix

YOUTUBE VIDEOS
Share a YouTube link and the clip includes the video title, the channel, the publish date, the description, and an embedded player link. When a transcript is available it is added with timestamps, and chapter headings are taken from the video description. Transcripts depend on YouTube and cannot always be fetched, so the clip is saved without one when it is unavailable.

BUILT FOR OBSIDIAN USERS
Choose any folder on your device, including a folder inside your Obsidian vault. Files are plain Markdown, so your notes are never locked inside this app. Set your default tags once and every clip gets them.

PRIVACY
No account. No ads. No analytics. The app loads only the page you share, and every clip is written straight to your own device.

NOTES
Some sites load slowly because of ads and other scripts. A few sites, such as TikTok and Instagram, are not supported.
