About 511NY
511NY is New York State’s official traffic and travel information source. The 511NY app provides statewide real-time traffic and transit information for all of New York State. New to 511NY is the Drive Mode. Users enter in their destination and origin and are provided up to three routes with highway travel times based on traffic conditions. Drive mode also provides audible alerts to the driver for incidents occurring along their route.
The 511NY app also offers a transit trip planner, access to over 1,000 camera images, as well as weather alerts and forecasts. A color coded map displaying winter road conditions also is available during the winter months!
What’s new
Version 3.1.1 · Updated September 30, 2026
511NY has a new look. We rebuilt the app and kept everything you rely on: cameras, incidents, winter road reports, travel times, My511, and trip planning. Tap the quick buttons to switch map layers fast. Search the way you talk, like "show me the cameras in Albany." And turn on hands-free alerts to hear about closures and crashes as you approach them.
User reviews
Helps me quite a lot on the road in Ny.
Very accurate and well built!
This is a great app, but would love to see a snow plow tracker, that way people can see progress of snow removal
Application now works with latest version. Thanks
