About FactRiver
FactRiver is a logic puzzle game that trains your ability to identify and arrange cause-effect relationships.
How to Play:
You are shown a scenario (an effect) and several potential causes mixed with distractors. Your task is to select exactly 3 causes and arrange them in the correct logical order to build the causal chain leading to the result. Choose wisely - only the correct sequence will hold together.
Features:
- Progressive difficulty with puzzles that challenge your logical thinking
- Logic Collection: unlock cards describing common reasoning fallacies as you play
- Minimalist ink-wash aesthetic with smooth water-flow animations
- Completely offline experience - no account or internet required
- Privacy-first design with all data stored locally on your device
Game Mechanics:
The game presents you with a situation and multiple items. Three of these are true causes that led to the result, while the others are distractors. Sort the three causes into the correct sequence to complete the causal chain. The game uses three types of logical judgment: qualitative (positive or negative causation), exclusive (finding the one valid cause among similar options), and sequential (maintaining logical continuity without gaps).
Progress through increasingly challenging levels where puzzles become more complex. Starting from simple single-cause chains, you'll progress to multi-cause scenarios and situations with dual interference. Each puzzle is randomly generated from a carefully curated library of real-world scenarios based on natural and social science principles.
