Tree Searcher

Tree Searcher is a field survey app for documenting native nut trees — oak, hickory, and chestnut — across North America. Whether you are a citizen scientist, forester, or volunteer with a breeding or conservation program, Tree Searcher helps you find trees on the map, record structured observations, and contribute data that supports long-term ecological research and food forestry.

WHAT YOU CAN DO

• Map trees in the field with GPS and satellite imagery
• Run guided surveys for flowering, fruiting, tree health, and seasonal phenology
• Attach photos of bark, leaves, flowers, fruit, and whole-tree views
• View your observations and revisit trees over time
• Work offline with downloadable map areas when cell service is limited.
• Sync your data when you are back online

BUILT FOR SERIOUS FIELD WORK

Tree Searcher is designed for people who spend time in the woods — not casual plant ID. Surveys capture the detail researchers and breeding programs need: location, species, environmental context, crop outlook, and repeatable visit history. Your observations help teams track individual trees across seasons and years.
