About Reread: Decode texts & replies
Not sure what they meant? Share a screenshot to Reread and see what their message likely means, why, and three replies you can send. Before you answer, check your own reply and see how it will land.
DECODE A MESSAGE YOU RECEIVED
• Share a screenshot or their message from any chat app to Reread.
• See the likely meaning in one line, the exact words that point to it, and other ways it could be read.
• Get three replies in different styles (calm, firm, warm or negotiating) that you can copy and send.
• Pick who it's from (manager, coworker, client, landlord, family, a date...) so the reading fits the relationship.
CHECK A DRAFT BEFORE YOU SEND IT
• Select the text you're writing and tap Reread, share it, type it into the app, or copy your reply and tap the Reread tile in Quick Settings.
• See how the reader is likely to take it: warm, curt, passive-aggressive, needy, over-apologetic and more.
• See which phrases cause it, highlighted in your own text.
• Get three fixes that keep what you meant to say.
PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• Phone numbers, email addresses, street addresses, and card and account numbers in common formats are masked on your phone before anything is sent, and the name you give for the person you're writing to is replaced. Other names are sent as written, and a detail written in an unusual way can be missed.
• Screenshots are read on your phone and are never uploaded.
• Your messages aren't stored on our servers, and Google doesn't use them to train its models.
• No ads, no advertising ID, no account sign-up. Usage stats and crash reports have their own switches.
WORKS WHERE YOU ALREADY WRITE
Slack, Teams, Gmail, Outlook, WhatsApp, Messages and more: share a screenshot or their message to Reread to decode it; copy your reply and tap the Reread tile to check it; or use the text-selection menu and the home-screen shortcuts "Check copied text" and "Decode a screenshot".
HONEST ABOUT WHAT IT IS
Reread uses AI to estimate how a message may come across. A "likely meaning" is a well-reasoned guess, not a fact, and Reread isn't legal, HR, medical or mental-health advice. You decide what to send. If a result is wrong or offensive, report it from the result.
SUBSCRIPTION
A Reread Pro subscription is required to use Reread. Some plans start with a free trial when Google Play offers one (usually one per Google account). Reread shows the price, the billing period and, with a trial, the date of your first charge before you subscribe. The subscription renews automatically every week or year until you cancel in Google Play → Subscriptions; cancel before the trial ends to avoid being charged. Deleting the app or your account doesn't cancel it.
