Fish & Chips UK

Britain has thousands of fish & chip shops. This is the guide to the ones worth queuing for - and not one of them paid to be here.

Fish & Chips is a free directory of over 300 of the best chippies and fish and chip restaurants across all twelve UK regions, from seaside institutions to the high-street shop three streets away. Every shop is included on merit. No sponsored listings, no paid placement, no way to buy a better position. Ever.

FIND A PROPER CHIPPY
• Browse a map or a list, sorted by distance from wherever you are
• Filter by region, by what a shop offers, and by what it fries in — beef
dripping or vegetable oil
• See opening hours, directions, photos and what a shop is known for
• Ratings drawn from public rating sites, hygiene inspections, verified public sentiment banded into tiers so you can see at a glance which shops stand out. All of them are great but you can check out the excellent, exceptional and outstanding
• Almost 500 shops carry a national award — NFFF, the Fry Awards and more

CURATED LISTS
Hand-built lists, including our Top 100 Chippies and Top 25 Fish & Chip
Restaurants, ranked on real reviews and official hygiene inspections rather than on who shouted loudest. Plus the shops picked out by the national press.

KEEP A RECORD
• Check in when you visit - the app confirms you are actually there
• Add photos of your visit
• Earn points, unlock badges, and take on challenges
• Build your own lists of favourites and places to try

WITH FRIENDS
Create a group, share the invite code, set challenges between yourselves and
organise a meet-up. Climb the all-time and weekly leader boards, or keep your profile private if you would rather just track your own visits.

FREE FOR EVERYONE
Free to use, free of ads, and free for shops - there is no listing fee and
nothing to buy your way onto. If you would like to support the running costs
there is a tip jar, and it unlocks absolutely nothing.

Run a chippy? Get in touch and we will correct your details, or set you up to
manage the listing yourself.
