मुल्ला नसरुद्दीन होजा तुर्की (और संभवतः सभी इस्लामी देशों का) सबसे प्रसिद्द विनोद चरित्र है। तुर्की भाषा में होजा शब्द का अर्थ है शिक्षक या स्कॉलर। उसकी चतुराई और वाकपटुता के किस्से संभवतः किसी वास्तविक इमाम पर आधारित हैं। कहा जाता है कि उसका जन्म वर्ष १२०८ में तुर्की के होरतो नामक एक गाँव में हुआ था और वर्ष १२३७ में वह अक्सेहिर नामक मध्यकालीन नगर में बस गया जहाँ हिजरी वर्ष ६८३ (ईसवी १२८५) में उसकी मृत्यु हो गई। मुल्ला नसरुद्दीन के इर्दगिर्द लगभग ३५० कथाएँ और प्रसंग घुमते हैं जिनमें से बहुतों की सत्यता संदिग्ध है।
