FARU: Find A Ride University

FARU (Find A Ride University) is a campus carpool message board for students — the modern version of the pin board in a student center.

Post and find campus rides, send a message for a Designated Driver when you need a sober ride home, message other verified students, and optionally share live location with emergency contacts during a trip.

What you can do:
• Post and browse campus rides toward hometowns and nearby campuses
• Filter by destination, club, and ride vibe
• Use Class Rides for schedule-aware campus carpools to class buildings
• See After class hometown rides that leave after your last class (FARU+)
• Browse event rides for games, concerts, career fairs, and more
• Post a ride request when you need a seat
• Join clubs and share trips with people you already trust
• Opt in as a Designated Driver for sober campus rides (free preferred, tips optional)
• There's no gig paperwork, and FARU doesn't turn your ride home into a side hustle - our goal is to help students help students
• Split the gas, etc and get there! You can even offer a ride for FREE

FARU GROUPS
Your club's night board. The plan is on the club, not each student.
FARU Groups ($9.99/mo) and Groups Pro ($24.99/mo) are club-billed in the App Store. Members still post seats, request a ride, and join a sober-ride network for free.
Event hubs: I have seats. I need a ride. Waitlist. I'm here.
Officers close gaps. Students still claim the ride. Officers do not put you on a car or assign you onto Driver on Duty.
I'm here opens 2 hours before arrive. Then set how you're leaving — need a ride, walk, drive, or offer seats. Scan a door QR so officers see you on the roster.

GROUPS PRO
Command is the live officer board: open seats, still out, Driver on Duty, tonight's hubs.
Driver on Duty is club coverage members sign up for. It is not the same as Profile Designated Drivers.
Hub history stays 18 months. Door headcount, chapter books, receipt scan, and branded PDFs are club records only — FARU does not file them with the university.

WHO IT’S FOR
Students at participating campuses with a verified school account. Guardians use linked track-only access — not the student marketplace.

Replace risky Discord / GroupMe ride threads with a structured, campus-ready board.

FARU hosts listings and messages. We do not provide transportation, employ drivers, or process payments between users for rides. Any meetup is solely between users.
