Brew Journal — Coffee Log

Brew Journal is the coffee lover's companion for dialing in the perfect grind. Whether you pull espresso, pour V60, or brew with a French Press, Brew Journal helps you track every session and get better with every cup.

🔍 TRACK EVERY BREW
Log your grind size, dose, yield, brew time, and taste feedback. Attach a photo of your puck or pour. See exactly what worked — and what didn't.

☕ SMART GRIND SUGGESTIONS
Brew Journal analyses your last sessions and tells you whether to go finer or coarser. Watch your dial-in arc on the grind trend chart. Stop guessing and start dialing in with confidence.

🫘 COFFEE LIBRARY
Build a catalogue of your coffees with origin, roast level, process, variety, and tasting notes. Use the SCA Flavor Wheel to pick notes precisely. Scan the label with your camera to fill in details automatically.

🌿 ROAST FRESHNESS
See a freshness indicator on every coffee showing days since roast. Know instantly whether your beans are in the optimal window for filter (7–21 days) or espresso (10–30 days).

🌊 WATER PROFILES
Log your water mineral setup — Tap, Filtered, Distilled, Mineral light (150 mg/L), Mineral classic (175 mg/L), or a fully custom TDS and hardness.

☕ ESPRESSO PUCK PREP
Track your pre-extraction routine with a customisable checklist: WDT stir, distribution, tamp, puck screen, and more. Only shown for espresso.

⏱ BUILT-IN BREW TIMER
Start a stopwatch directly in the brew form. Hit "Use this time" and your brew time is filled in automatically.

🏡 ROASTERY TRACKER
Add the roasteries behind your coffees — country, website, notes. Link each coffee to its roastery.

🎯 SENSORY PROFILING
Score your brew on five axes: Aroma, Acidity, Body, Sweetness, and Finish — visualised as a pentagon chart. Log TDS% and calculate Extraction Yield automatically.

📐 COMPARE BREWS
Long-press any brew to compare it side-by-side with another session. Differing values are highlighted.

🏆 ACHIEVEMENTS
Earn milestones as you brew: First Pour, Getting Dialed, Method Explorer, Week Warrior, Extraction Nerd, and more. Synced with Google Play Games.

📊 BREW STATS & STREAKS
Track your current and longest brew streaks, average rating, best extraction yield, and your favourite coffees and methods.

⚙️ GRINDER PROFILES
Add your grinders (conical burr, flat burr, or blade) and track grind settings per grinder and method independently.

📋 RECIPE DEFAULTS
