Dummy Phone

Introducing Dummy Phone, the ultimate productivity app designed to help you stay focused and minimize distractions. Whether you’re a student, professional, or anyone looking to reclaim your time, Dummy Phone is your ideal companion.

KEY FEATURES :

1. 📵 Minimalist Home Screen:
Dummy Phone offers a minimalist home screen that displays only essential apps like calling and messaging, ensuring your focus remains on what truly matters.

2. 🔒 Customizable App Usage:
You can choose which apps you want to use for a set period of time (e.g., one month or one year). During that duration, only the chosen apps will be accessible, and these apps will appear on the second screen. Apart from the chosen apps, no other apps will be accessible.

3.⏱ Social Media Limit:
If you choose any social media apps, a 20-minute daily usage limit will be enforced. Once you reach that limit, the app cannot be used for the remainder of the day.

4. ▶ YouTube Shorts Control
Choose to block YouTube Shorts completely or set a 20-minute daily limit. Once the time is up, Shorts stops for the rest of the day.

5. 🛡 SafeNet DNS Protection
Block malicious sites and adult content at the DNS level, locally on your device. Zero data collection. Safer browsing by default.

6 .💪 Commitment-Based Design
A small fee applies to exit early. This friction is intentional — it's what makes Dummy Phone a real digital wellbeing tool, not just another screen time app you'll ignore.

HOW IT WORKS — TECHNICALLY :

🔍 Accessibility Service
Dummy Phone uses Android's Accessibility Service strictly to detect which app is in the foreground and enforce your blocking rules. It does not read screen content, text input, messages, passwords, or any personal data. All processing happens locally on your device.

🌐 VPN Permission
Dummy Phone uses Android's VpnService permission to configure DNS-level filtering for safe browsing. No actual VPN tunnel is created, and no internet traffic is routed through external servers.

📋 Installed Apps Permission (QUERY_ALL_PACKAGES)
This permission allows Dummy Phone to display your installed apps so you can choose which ones to allow. It is used exclusively for app selection and blocking — nothing more.

YOUR PRIVACY:

No accounts. No cloud sync. No tracking. No data collection. Dummy Phone is a privacy-first mindful usage app — everything stays on your device, always.

WHO IS IT FOR?

✔ Students preparing for exams
✔ Professionals who need deep work sessions
✔ Anyone struggling with social media overuse or phone addiction
✔ Parents modeling healthy, intentional phone habits
✔ People who've tried other screen time tools and found them too easy to bypass
