The Carmilla’s ‘Portals’ EP: the World’s First Augmented Reality Record Release
The Carmilla’s ‘Portals’ EP in the world’s first ‘Augmented Reality Record Release’.
At a time when music has been reduced to just an audio file and static image, Irish band 'The Carmilla’s' are bringing their exciting sound to an entirely new dimension, providing fans, with a uniquely immersive and magical performance experience that delivers songs in a way never before seen.
This EP features 4 new songs, performed live at the band's Dublin studio. Upon downloading the App, tap the track icons, watch a Portal open, and then pass your phone through to enter the studio - you can then walk around, watching as they record each song.
It’s a totally immersive, alternative dimension, so walk around to see the guys play, tilt down to check out their foot pedals, or up towards whatever’s happening above. Wanna learn the chords from the songs? Just walk up to the guitarists! By turning your phone, you can even see back into the ‘other’ world you’ve just come from as well!
AR Portals are an emerging technology, developed in Ireland, that combines Augmented Reality technology, 360 Video and GPS location tracking.
“We want this record release to feel like the ultimate in intimate gig, where you’re ‘in the room’ and ‘at the centre of the process’ as we record and perform” said Molly. “And the AR Portals also reflect the band's multi-media live shows, and the times we’re living in”.
It’s a whole new way to enjoy music, so download today and enter the world of The Carmilla’s, or to find our more about AR Portals, please visit www.ARPortals.net
