Text recognition and translation run on your device. The translated result appears close to the original text so you can keep reading the app underneath. After the required language models are downloaded, supported translation works offline.

OFFLINE AND ON DEVICE
Screen Translator uses on-device OCR and translation. Recognized screen text is not uploaded to an external translation server. An internet connection may be required once to download Google ML Kit language models, after which supported languages can work offline.

OPTIONAL ACCESSIBILITY SERVICE
The optional accessibility service can read visible non-editable text and its screen position only while translation is running. This improves speed, placement and cleaner replacement. Password and editable fields are excluded. Pixel-based OCR remains available without the accessibility service.

DESIGNED FOR CONTINUOUS READING
Translations appear in place instead of forcing you to switch between apps. This makes Screen Translator useful for games, manga, foreign apps, web pages and other content where copy and paste interrupts the experience.

IMPORTANT LIMITATIONS
Recognition quality depends on text size, font, contrast, layout and language support. Apps that block screen capture may not be translated. Translation can contain errors. Verify important names, numbers, medical, legal and financial information against the original text.
