LOCATION & PERMISSIONS — WHY AND HOW THIQWAY USES THEM

LOCATION DURING ACTIVE DELIVERIES
ThiqWay collects a driver's location only during an active delivery, to confirm pickups and arrivals automatically and to keep cold-chain sensor readings accurate. Tracking starts only when the driver taps "Start Trip". A visible notification is shown the entire time — "Active delivery tracking - ThiqWay is updating your location in the background" — and tracking stops immediately when the trip ends or is cancelled. Location is never collected outside an active trip.

FOREGROUND SERVICE (BACKGROUND LOCATION)
Delivery tracking runs as a foreground service so location updates continue while the app is not on screen. This task cannot be paused or deferred: if the operating system suspends the app, the driver can cross the 200-metre delivery geofence without it being detected, which breaks the automated handover, and a cold-chain breach alert (for example a temperature above a safe threshold) would be delayed by minutes — long enough to spoil sensitive medical or food cargo.

GEOFENCING & AUTOMATED HANDOVERS
The app calculates the distance to the destination in real time. When the driver enters a 200-metre radius, the arrival event fires automatically, the shipment status updates to "arrived", and the handover is recorded.

BLUETOOTH (COLD-CHAIN SENSORS)
During transit the app connects to temperature and humidity sensors over Bluetooth Low Energy and associates every reading with the shipment's exact GPS coordinates to maintain a verified custody log.

USER CONTROL AND TRANSPARENCY
All tracking is started only by the driver's explicit action and can be stopped at any time by completing or cancelling the trip. A status-bar notification is shown whenever location is being updated.
