About PEDVENT
PEDIVENT: Understanding the Interaction Between the Child, the Diseased Lung, and the Ventilator
PEDIVENT is a dedicated teaching platform designed to help clinicians understand the interaction between the patient, the diseased lung, and the mechanical ventilator.
The app is built on strong physiological and mathematical foundations, integrating the principles of gas exchange, ventilation, perfusion, lung mechanics, airway resistance, compliance, pressure, flow, volume, and the physics of gas movement. Rather than simply providing ventilator settings or clinical recommendations, PEDIVENT demonstrates why changes in ventilator parameters produce specific changes in lung mechanics, gas exchange, and arterial blood gases.
At its core, PEDIVENT focuses on the dynamic interaction between the patient and the ventilator—how the ventilator delivers pressure, flow, and volume; how the diseased lung responds; and how these interactions ultimately influence ventilation, oxygenation, respiratory mechanics, and ABG values.
The platform allows learners to move beyond memorising ventilator settings and instead understand the physiological consequences of each intervention. Changes in respiratory rate, tidal volume, inspiratory time, PEEP, FiO₂, pressure support, and other parameters can be related directly to changes in alveolar ventilation, oxygenation, CO₂ elimination, airway pressures, lung volumes, pressure–volume relationships, and blood gases.
PEDIVENT is therefore an important educational tool for pediatric intensivists, pediatricians, respiratory therapists, neonatologists, fellows, residents, trainees, and all clinicians involved in mechanical ventilation.
The emphasis is not on telling the learner what to do, but on helping the learner understand what is happening inside the patient when a ventilator setting is changed.
In essence:
PEDIVENT does not just teach you what to set on the ventilator—it teaches you what happens between the ventilator and the diseased lung, and why.

User reviews
Dr. Devpujari’s Paediatric Ventilator app is an excellent, practical resource for anyone involved in PICU. The content is clear, clinically relevant, & presented in a way that makes complex ventilator concepts easier to understand & apply. It is especially helpful for quick bedside reference, useful guidance on vent...
An Absolute Game-Changer for Learning Paediatric Ventilation. I absolutely love this app. Paediatric ventilation can feel scary, but this simulator makes it so much easier to understand. We have always been taught to play with the ventilator to truly learn it, and now we finally can in a safe, simulated world.Being ...
A very useful learning resource for pediatric residents and fellows. PEDVENT encourages understanding of the principles behind ventilation rather than simply memorizing settings. Learning made so very easy.
An excellent educational app for understanding pediatric ventilation. PEDVENT makes complex concepts like ventilator settings, lung mechanics, and patient–ventilator interaction much easier to understand. Very useful for pediatricians and pediatric critical care trainees.
Excellent teaching app by master of the subject.
This app is one of it's kind and probably the only one to date!! Dr. Satish Deopojari, brilliant and dedicated as he is, has come out with yet another wonderful learning tool. It brings together so many aspects of monitoring - both clinical conditions and laboratory results have been matched with ventilatory paramet...
