Lantern

Lantern is a prayer companion — a small, calm space for the people and intentions you're praying through.

Not another Bible app. Not a feed of devotionals to scroll. Lantern is built for one thing: helping you actually pray, every day, for the people and moments that matter most.

━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━━

✦ A PRAYER WAITING, THREE TIMES A DAY

Open Lantern at dawn and a morning prayer is already there — a photograph, a verse, and a thought for the day ahead. At midday, something for the middle of doing. At dusk, a prayer for laying the day down. Three quiet moments, threaded through your day.

✦ GUIDED, IN FOUR MOVEMENTS

Tap Begin and Lantern walks you through the prayer one step at a time: praise, then honesty, then asking, then letting go. One thought on the screen at a time, so you are praying rather than reading. Pause whenever you want. Skip what doesn't fit. Add your own words.

✦ CHOOSE THE VOICE THAT PRAYS WITH YOU

Hear any prayer read aloud in a warm, unhurried voice, the words lighting up as they're prayed. Listen to each voice before you choose. Pray with your eyes closed. Pray on a walk.

✦ PRAY FOR THE PEOPLE YOU LOVE

Add the people on your heart — family, friends, anyone you carry. Write prayers for them. Mark them as answered. Return months later to see what God has done. A private, beautiful record of your prayer life.

✦ WRITE IT DOWN, AND BE REMINDED

Something surfaces mid-prayer — write it down and ask Lantern to bring it back. A gentle reminder at the hour you choose, carrying the note in your own words.

✦ BRING WHAT'S HEAVY BEFORE GOD

When something specific is weighing on you — a hard conversation, a worry, a dream — tap "Pray with me." Type or speak what's on your heart. Lantern returns a prayer in your own voice, scripture that genuinely speaks to the moment, and a pastoral reflection. Choose your posture: surrender, intercession, gratitude, or lament.

✦ A REMEMBRANCE OF ANSWERED PRAYERS

Mark prayers as answered with a gratitude note. Lantern quietly resurfaces them weeks later as "Remember when?" moments — building a testimony arc of God's faithfulness over time.

✦ MADE FOR YOUR SCREEN, LIGHT OR DARK

Lantern follows your phone's light or dark setting, and tablets get their own layout rather than a stretched-out phone. The prayer screens stay dark either way — their photographs need it.

✦ WHAT LANTERN ISN'T

Lantern is not a pastor, counselor, or doctor. It's not a content feed. It's not trying to teach you theology. It's a companion — walking alongside, helping you express what's already in your heart.

✦ PRIVACY YOU CAN TRUST

— No account required. Ever.
— No email, phone number, or password.
— No advertising, no tracking of you. Anonymous crash reports and aggregated usage counts only — never your prayers.
— Your people, your notes and your prayers stay on your device by default.
— When you use AI prayer features, only the specific text you've asked about is sent to our service — tagged anonymously.
— Erase everything in one tap, anytime.

✦ DESIGNED FOR EVERY GENERATION

Lantern is for the grandmother praying for her grandchild and the twenty-year-old wrestling with their next decision. Big tap targets. Text that scales up as far as you need. Voice input for those who'd rather speak than type. Read-aloud for those who'd rather listen than read. No app to "learn" — just prayer, made gentle.

✦ DAILY RHYTHM, WITHOUT GUILT

Three slim dots fill in as you pray each slot. A streak rewards rhythm without nagging. Skip a day and it quietly resets — Lantern won't shame you back. There is no leaderboard. Prayer is between you and God.

If you've ever felt like prayer should be more of a relationship than an obligation, Lantern was built for you.

Carry the prayer.

Made with love in Cape Town.
