Penny Value tells you what your pennies are worth. Snap both sides of a US penny and get the year, the mint mark, the variety and an honest value estimate for its condition. Free scans every day. It is a coin identifier built for one coin only, the US one-cent piece, so it checks the details that decide a penny's value instead of guessing.

WHY PENNY VALUE
• Built for pennies: Lincoln Wheat cents (1909–1958), Lincoln Memorial (1959–2008), the 2009 Bicentennial designs, Shield cents (2010 onward), Indian Head cents (1859–1909) and Flying Eagle cents (1856–1858).
• Reads the date and mint mark. When a photo isn't clear enough, the app asks for a close-up of the date instead of guessing.

WHAT YOU CAN CHECK
• Wheat penny value by year and mint mark, including 1909-S VDB, 1914-D, 1922 No D, 1931-S and the 1955 Doubled Die.
• The 1943 steel penny, the rare 1943 copper penny and the 1944 steel error.
• The 1982 penny: copper or zinc, large or small date. Weigh it to be sure (3.11 g vs 2.5 g).
• Error coins and varieties: doubled dies (1955, 1969-S, 1972, 1995), 1992 Close AM, Wide AM, repunched mint marks, off-center strikes and clipped planchets.
• Melt value for copper pennies, updated monthly.

• Rare pennies are often faked or altered. The app tells you what to check; it can't authenticate a coin from a photo.
• Your photos are used to identify your coin. We don't keep them, and they are not used to train AI unless you choose to help.
