About Cutonce: DIY Woodworking Plans
Cutonce gives you woodworking plans you can finish. Each plan tells you what to buy, what to cut and where every part goes, one step at a time. It is woodworking for beginners: useful DIY projects for the home and garden that you can build on the weekend with basic tools.
We measure twice. You cut once.
What is in every plan
• A cutting list (cut list) with every part, its size and how many to cut
• A shopping list, so you buy the right boards and hardware the first time
• Dimensioned drawings and an exploded view of how the parts fit together
• Preparation and assembly steps, each with its own drawing
• The tools you need, the wood, the build time and the difficulty, before you start
• Measurements in millimeters or inches, with inch fractions as a tape measure shows them
Every plan is drawn from one model, so the cutting list, the drawings and the steps always agree on the dimensions. Each part keeps one color from the list to the drawing to the step, so you can see which board goes where.
Woodworking projects in the library
Easy beginner projects and a few bigger builds, each marked easy, moderate or advanced:
• Storage: a slatted storage crate, a two-shelf spice rack and an open pine bookcase
• Hallway: a slatted boot tray and a shoe bench
• Living room and bathroom: a plank-top coffee table and a bath caddy
• Garden: a birdhouse, a cedar planter box, a garden bench, a firewood rack, a sandpit with corner seats and a potting bench
Build step by step
• Watch the build: play a plan through, step by step, before you pick up a saw
• Your progress is saved at every step, and you can carry on where you left off with one tap
• Stuck on a step? Ask Mark, the built-in helper. Add a photo of your work and Mark answers with that step in mind. Mark is software and says so
• Save or share any plan as a PDF
• Keep a record of what you have built, with a photo of each finished piece
Photo tools for wood and furniture
• Wood ID: photograph a board to find out which wood it is likely to be
• Furniture ID: photograph a piece of furniture to learn what it is
• Valuation: get a rough estimate of what a wooden piece is worth
• Repair tips: spot the damage and get steps to repair it
The photo tools and Ask Mark use AI to read your photos and questions. Their answers are estimates, not expert appraisals. When a photo is not clear enough, the tool says so and asks for another. Daily limits apply to scans and questions.
Free plan and subscription
Without a subscription you can look through the library and build one complete plan, the slatted boot tray. Full access to every plan, the photo tools and Ask Mark is a yearly subscription, paid through Google Play. New subscribers may be offered an introductory period. The price, any introductory period and the renewal date are shown before you confirm. The subscription renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time in Google Play under Payments and subscriptions, and you keep access until the end of the period you have paid for.
