About Child Height : Growth Chart
One photo against a wall. Your child's height becomes a record.
You tape a measure to the wall, rest a book on top of their head, and while you read the mark they keep lifting their heels.
The number you get that way usually never makes it onto paper, and then it is gone.
Child Height shrinks that whole process into one photo. All you need is an A4 sheet or a card.
■ How you measure
1. Stand your child straight against a wall, and hold or tape an A4 sheet or a credit card beside their body.
2. Open the camera and it checks three things live: full body, facing the camera, reference object detected.
3. Once all three are right, the shot is taken automatically while the pose holds.
An A4 sheet is 297mm on its long edge and a credit card is 85.6mm, sizes fixed by standard.
The app measures how many pixels the reference covers on screen, then applies the same ratio to work out your child's height.
A reference lying at an angle is corrected by reading its tilt from the difference between the four side lengths,
and a value is accepted only once several consecutive frames agree on it.
A4 and cards have close aspect ratios, so the decision range is kept narrow to avoid confusing the two.
If the measured value differs from reality, you can correct it yourself on the result screen.
Enter the height you already know and that is the value that gets recorded.
■ Where they sit among their peers
The result is laid over the KDCA child and adolescent growth charts.
Your child's point sits on the band running from the 3rd to the 97th percentile,
alongside the 50th percentile median line, so the position reads at a glance.
The reference curves switch automatically by sex.
■ Every centimetre kept as it happened
- Growth this month : how much they grew this month compared with the last record
- Growth spurt : you are told when the growth rate over the past three months passes 1.5 times the average of the period before
- Estimated adult height : calculated once you enter the parent heights
- Timeline : records stack up in the order you measured
- With more than one child, add each of them and the records stay separate
■ So it is not forgotten
A reminder arrives at a set time each day.
The default is 11 AM, and you can change the time or turn it off in settings.
■ No photos are kept
The camera view is used only to calculate height, and nothing is saved as a photo.
What stays behind is numbers, such as the height and the date it was measured.
There is no sign-up and no login. Open the app and it is ready to use.
■ Worth knowing
Because it measures from a photo, it is not as accurate as a stadiometer.
Values are steadiest with the reference flat and facing the camera, and your child standing straight against the wall.
Measured in the same spot in the same way, it is enough to see how much they have grown.
The estimated adult height is a statistical estimate from parent heights and carries a wide margin. Treat it as a reference only.
This app is not a medical device. It cannot be used as grounds for diagnosis or treatment.
If anything about your child's growth worries you, please talk to a paediatrician.
■ Also
The screen theme can be set to follow the system setting, light, or dark.
