Connected Homeless

Connected Homeless is a registered charity in England and Wales, number 1172896. This app is one way to give to a homeless person you have met.

NOT A GOVERNMENT SERVICE

Connected Homeless is an independent charity. This app is not a government service and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any council, government department or public body.

GIVE TO SOMEBODY, NOT TO A FUND

Every member of Connected Homeless is given an ID number by the charity. Ask for it, type it in, and your donation is credited to that member's balance once Stripe confirms the payment. You can leave a message with it.

A pound becomes a hundred points. Members spend those points in shops that have joined the scheme. It is not cash, and it is not something they have to explain at the till.

Your donation is a gift. You receive nothing in return, and nothing in this app is unlocked by paying.

I HAVE A

Got a coat, a sleeping bag, a sofa you no longer need? Post it here with a photograph and the charity will look at arranging collection.

WHO YOU ARE GIVING TO

Browse the people the charity is working with. You see a first name, an ID number and a photograph. Nothing about their situation is shown.

HOW THE MONEY IS HANDLED

Payments are taken by Stripe. The payment is created on the charity's own servers, and the member's balance is credited when Stripe confirms it, so nothing in the app can credit a balance by itself.
