About Momentum: Habit Tracker
Momentum is a habit tracker that keeps your life to yourself.
No account. No sign-up. No cloud. Nothing you write is uploaded anywhere, because there is no server to upload it to. Your habits, your streaks and your notes live on your phone and nowhere else. If you uninstall the app, that data is gone — that is the trade-off of real privacy, and we would rather be honest about it than quietly copy your life to a database.
WHAT YOU CAN DO
• Build habits and check them off. Set how many times a day counts as done, and which weekdays a habit is due.
• See your progress. Current streak, best streak, completion rate, weekly and total views — enough to know how you are doing, without turning your life into a dashboard.
• Give each habit its own emoji and colour, so your list reads at a glance.
• Set reminders that arrive at the time you choose, using your phone's own clock.
• Archive habits you are done with instead of deleting them, and restore them later if you change your mind.
• Light theme, dark theme, or follow your system setting.
FREE AND PREMIUM
Three habits are free. Not for seven days, not for a month — free, with no countdown and no expiry. Most people are working on two or three things at a time, and for them Momentum is simply a free app.
Premium removes the limit and adds reminders:
• Unlimited habits
• Reminders for any habit
If your subscription ends, nothing is taken from you. Your first three habits stay fully editable. The rest stay visible and you can still check them off, archive them or delete them — you just cannot edit them until you subscribe again. Reminders stop while the subscription is inactive, but the times you set are remembered and come back if you resubscribe. We do not hold your own work hostage.
NO ADVERTISING
There is no advertising in Momentum. There is no advertising SDK in the app, no ads are shown to anyone — subscriber or not — and no advertising identifier is collected. Removing ads is not something you are buying, because there were never any.
PERMISSIONS, PLAINLY
Momentum asks only for what reminders and purchases need:
• Notifications — to show your reminders. Android asks you first, and if you say no, only reminders are switched off. The rest of the app works normally.
• Run at restart — so reminders you have set survive a reboot instead of silently stopping.
• Vibrate and wake — so a reminder can buzz and arrive at the right moment.
• Internet and network state — required by the app framework and by Google Play's billing flow.
The app requests no access to your location, camera, microphone, contacts, photos, files, or advertising identifier.
WHY IT WORKS THIS WAY
Most habit apps ask you to create an account before you can write down that you want to drink more water. Then your streaks live on someone else's computer, tied to an email address, next to an analytics pipeline. Momentum takes the opposite position: the app should be useful on the first screen, and what you track is nobody's business but yours.
That decision has costs, and they are yours to weigh. There is no sync between devices. There is no web version. There is no account recovery, because there is no account. If those matter more to you than privacy, another app will serve you better — and that is a fair choice to make before you install rather than after.
